The Mighty Hunters

Drake and I ready for Pheasant opening day. We ended up walking 5 or 6 miles and Drake made it the whole way. Unfortunately we saw more miles that day than birds, but it was still a great to be out as father and son.

Random Weekend Pics!

This swing has apparently stood the test of time. The lady who lived in our house before us stopped by and said they put the swing up in 1971, and from that point on it was considered "the neighborhood swing." We put up a new rope (thanks to Uncle Jordan) and Jon made a new seat for it, but the branch is obviously standing strong. (see above picture...incredible huh?! Who knew it could hold all of that?! he he) This swing has been played with more then the entire swing set we had at our old house. It's the simple things in life that end up being the best things!

The hopscotch that goes up to 119. Now that will give you a workout!

Silly Faces

The hot football Dad!

Jon, Elsie and Drake playing 500

The "diet" cookies. Yum!

Peekaboo Elsie!!

Our house, after spending all of Saturday trimming bushes and doing yard work. We hauled two truckloads of branches away, but it really cleaned everything up. If you notice we also took the ancient air conditioner out that was sticking out of the front of the house. Jon and I can now officially say that we can do siding!

Don't let the big sad puppy eyes fool you. Touche' spent the weekend chewing two holes in the rug, so I threw him outside where he then dug two holes in the yard! Good thing he's so cute. :-)

Jon playing with dry ice and having entirely toooo much fun!

Jon had the bright idea to bake not 1 but 2 batches of yummy cookies just after we decided to start a diet. Needless to say.... the cookies won. :-)

A pirate walks into a bar......

and the bartender notices that the pirate has a steering wheel in his pants. So the bartender asks the pirate "whats with the steering wheel?" The pirate looks down and replies "arrrrgh it's driving me nuts".

For those of you that have been wanting to see Drake in his "pirate patch" here you go.

Elsie's First Slumber Party!

I just realized that I put the pictures in random order, but I am to lazy to start over, so you get to see the evidence of the fun slumber party first!

Elsie chose to have a slumber party with her friend Macy rather then having a birthday party. This was the first slumber party for both girls, so there were high expectations! It was hilarious to hear them giggling and talking throughout the night. They almost sounded to much like teenagers! At one point I went in to check on them because it was amazingly quiet and found fifteen barbies getting hair cuts! I guess you could describe them as "punk barbies" now! So edgy! They watched Hannah Montana in 3D and ate pizza, popcorn and candy. I wonder why they were so wound up at 11:00? :-) They finally passed out around 12:30. I slept down on the couch just in case one of them woke up scared or if Macy decided she wanted to go home. But I didn't need to worry because they slept through the night and woke up without missing a beat. Drake was such a good sport about it all. He got special Dad time, so he didn't really care what the girls were up to.
The funny thing was the highlight of the evening seemed to be when I took them to the video store in their pajamas. That was the first thing Macy told her Mom when we took her home. Who knew that's all I had to do? Well, I know this is only the beginning of many slumber parties to come. It was a lot of fun, but I think it took me a good 3 days to recoup! Hopefully I get better at that part of it! :-)

Check Out the New Specs.!!

Drake got glasses just like Dads!

Last week the school nurse let me know that while the kindergartners were getting their routine eye exams at school, Drake's right eye was flagged. They just wanted us to be aware of it, but it wasn't a real big concern. Apparently his right eye turns in just a hair and they saw it. Anyway, since I was going to the eye doctor today anyway to pick up my contacts I decided to make a day of it and bring Drake and Elsie along. During the exam I thought Drake was hamming it up by saying random letters like "it's a C" when in actuality it was an X. He almost got in trouble by me, but I figured the doctor would handle it. Anyway, by the end, the doc said that because of his right eye turning in just a little bit he has been relying almost solely on his left eye to do all the work. The result is that his right eye has not developed. So, he wasn't being goofy. He really couldn't see the letters! I'm just glad we caught it now!

Thankfully it can be strengthened by glasses and wearing a patch 2 hours every day after school. If any of you talk to him about it just remember that the "pirate patch" is super cool! We want to keep it that way as long as possible!

Well, that's the jest of it! I just think it's hilarious that Jon really
does have a"Mini Me" following him around!
They're both pretty good looking guys!!

Just a glimpse of what we have been working on......
